Walk me through what happens on the appointment.
We look at the rooms first, check the fiber type, and point out anything that may not fully respond. Then we vacuum dry soil out, pretreat traffic lanes and spots, agitate the pretreatment into the pile, and extract with hot water under pressure. We groom the pile so it dries standing up and set air movers where airflow is poor. Before we leave, we walk the job with you and note any spot that needs a second visit.

Hot-water extraction, shampooing, dry cleaning: what is the difference?
Hot-water extraction flushes soil out of the pile and pulls it back into the machine, and it is what we use on most jobs. Shampooing works detergent through the fiber with a rotary brush; it helps on heavily matted commercial-grade carpet but leaves more residue behind. Dry or low-moisture cleaning uses compound or encapsulation chemistry with almost no water, which suits wool rugs, glue-down office carpet, and units that need to be back in service in an hour. Shaw, Mohawk and Stainmaster nylon almost always gets extraction; we pick something gentler when the fiber or the schedule calls for it.

What is a sensible cleaning schedule for a house like mine?
Every 12 months covers a typical household here. Push it to every 6 to 9 months if you have dogs, allergy sufferers, or a busy entry hall. How is my number figured, and how do I get it?
The estimate is free and the quote is firm before anyone touches a machine. Square footage and room count drive most of it. Beyond that: fiber type, how deep the soil is, pet urine treatment, stair counts, furniture that has to be moved, and whether you want protector reapplied afterward. Do I need to clear the rooms before you arrive?
No. We move sofas, chairs, coffee tables, and light dressers, then set them back on blocks or pads while the carpet dries. We leave alone anything with real risk attached: pianos, waterbeds, full china cabinets, wall units bolted to studs, and electronics. Take small items, plants, and anything breakable off the floor and the surfaces we will be sliding. In the older ranch homes and dingbat units around here, closets stuffed to the door usually get skipped unless you empty them.

Is there anything that will not come out?
Food, drinks, mud, pet accidents, grease, and general traffic soil normally release. Coffee, red wine, and pet urine usually respond if the fiber has not been dyed by them yet. What we cannot promise: bleach and benzoyl peroxide spots, old rust, some inks and dyes, mustard, and anything that has already stripped color out of the fiber. Sun-faded lanes near south-facing windows are damage, not soil. We tell you which category your spot falls in before we start, not after.

Are your products fine with a dog and a toddler in the house?
Yes. We use products rated safe for occupied homes and we rinse thoroughly, so nothing sticky is left in the pile to attract soil or transfer onto hands and paws. Kids and pets can stay elsewhere in the house while we work; we just want them out of the room being cleaned so nobody trips on hoses. Once the carpet is dry, the room goes back to normal use. If anyone in the house has asthma or a chemical sensitivity, say so and we will adjust what we use.

Can you also handle couches, area rugs and tile floors?
Yes to all three. Upholstery gets fiber-appropriate cleaning, since microfiber, cotton blends and delicate weaves each need different handling. Area rugs are cleaned on site when the construction allows it, and wool or silk pieces go out for controlled washing instead. Tile and grout get pressure cleaning with extraction, plus grout sealing if you want it. Bundling rooms and pieces into one visit is the cheapest way to do it, and we quote the whole thing up front.

Is today possible, and which neighborhoods do you cover?
Same-day slots open up often, especially for morning calls. We are based in the central San Fernando Valley floor and work throughout Van Nuys and the surrounding Valley, about 15 to 20 miles northwest of downtown LA. That covers the postwar ranch and stucco bungalow tracts on slab, the garden apartment and dingbat courtyard buildings along the boulevards, and the newer construction in between. Since there are no basements anywhere in this service area, everything we clean is at or near grade, which keeps setup quick.
